The high angle is akin to garnish on a dish to add the finishing touches. It's meant to be a complimentary component in a shot, as opposed to the main element. A high angle places the subject into their surroundings and lets them become one with the moment, a phenomenon I like to call "soaking it in". A good sample of high angle views can be found in the anime series Bleach. Bleach fights are unique in that they can take place in the air and on the ground in quick sequence, and mixing in zanpakuto abilities and other aspects of the combat system allows Bleach to push these mostly unfamiliar boundaries. We may not be spiritually powered shinigami, but we do have GPOSE and we can make some fun uses of high angles.

A visual representation of how the viewer sees a subject at eye level The most common of all camera angles the Eye Level shot brings the viewer and the subject to the same to eye level creating a neutral relationship between them. The more logical applications of the eye level shot is to establish a relationship, close in on a conversation, or breaking the 4th wall. As a matter of fact the Merk with a Mouth is a prime example of Eye Level angles being used in all their glory. Deadpool loves breaking the 4th wall to start a conversation with the viewer over the current situation, thus creating a deeper relationship between the viewer and the subject. Kuzko from the Emporer's New Groove also couldn't help but break the 4th wall to show us his perspective of the struggles being a llama has created for him.
An example of a low angle in GPOSE Low angles are some of the best storytelling aspects that can help tell the viewer that something amazing, or terrifying, is about to happen. The more common application of the low angle is to take the subject and put them in a powerful stance or position. A wonderful example of the power low angle is during the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail where King Arthur arrives to a French fort seeking the Holy Grail. The French soldiers are proximately propped up with a low angle while delivering a slew of savage quips to King Arthur as they "fart in his general direction".
We all are guilty of going into gpose to take a quick snippet and post it on social media, and sometimes that's okay. I do it myself from time to time. But don't you sometimes get tired and wonder if there's a better way to get good looking pics? There is in fact a way and all it involves is just a bit of rudimentary cinematography. Becoming familiar and comfortable with common camera angles will level up your GPOSE game to the next level and doesn't require student loan debt to learn. Let's keep in mind however that the functionality of GPOSE does has its limitations that will alter some of the camera angles we'll discuss. There's even a handful of angles we cannot use in GPOSE. With the disclaimers covered let's begin our journey through the various camera angles we can utilize in our GPOSE sessions.

There is much to unpack for the final month of 2022, but before we go through the laundry list I wanted to take the time to thank everyone so far who has supported me on my journey as a content creator. You guys stick around for the thick and thin somehow and are my true inspiration for going to great lengths to provide the content you deserve from me. Let's hope for 2023 to be the year that the Poser Army truly becomes an army!
This is one of the few areas in the Final Fantasy 14 community where Sprouts and Vets can be on equal grounds. Most MMOs have some type of transmog system and photo mode so players can make awesome pictures of their in game avatars. Square Enix took those concepts and flipped them on their heads with the Glamour dresser and Group Pose (Gpose) mode. If you hate looking like an ugly level 10 noob, or you're trying to look for the best attire that matches your Zodiac weapons investing time into learning how the Glamour and Gpose systems work.
~Sneak Peek Trailer for A Realm Reborn Review by DioDiablo A Realm Reborn (ARR) is the rebooted story of Final Fantasy 14 that Square Enix wanted us to experience, but only Yoshi P. could ever deliver on. Being the first story that all new players, or Sprouts, play through it's absolutely necessary to complete if you want to move onto "the good stuff". Once you get this far into the story of FF14 you'll have heard these common quips about ARR:
The Road that a Witcher walks is not for the feint of heart. Afterall, only those who survive the Trials of the Grass are able to complete their Witcher training. To make matters worse it's an extremely thankless job as humans see Witchers as "monsters" or "mutants". Alas, someone has to kill the griffon in White Orchard, the Drowners in the Novigrad sewers, and rescue the pot for the sweet old lady. Now take all the challenges that Witchers must endure and crank it up to max settings!!!
It hurts to say goodbye to something that you love. It’s hard to walk away when you know in your heart it’s time to go. But sometimes, the pain is too much to bare and you have to just pack up and go. When an MMO cooks up a disconnect between the Development Team and the Players, shards of a once shared world begin to crumble and fall.
When the players make a collective decision to congregate and embark on an exodus from a MMO they’ve spent years with, the world will take notice. The greatest display of a mass exodus was when the colossal World Of Warcraft community had enough and left the juggernaut hosted by Activision-Blizzard, especially when long time player Asmongold fled to Final Fantasy 14. I thought we would never see a mass exodus of this magnitude again, but in late summer of 2022 history is beginning to repeat itself. |
